MÜLLER OPLADEN – A Century of Experience and Success

Automated Welding and 3D Profiling Technology Made in Germany

The MÜLLER OPLADEN success story began in 1919, when Josef Müller founded his company in Opladen near Cologne. The location on the southern fringe of the Ruhr area – then, as now, one of Germany’s technology regions – was well chosen, as it was home to German metalworking, welding and cutting. MÜLLER OPLADEN is considered the inventor of thermal 3D pipe profiling, launching the first pipe processing machine on the market as far back as 1953.

This makes MÜLLER OPLADEN a long-established company in German machine manufacture. The US specialist WATTS has been part of the MÜLLER OPLADEN company group since 2016. Today, the family business is managed by Ralf Hamacher in the 4th generation. At the German site in Leverkusen-Opladen and the US site near Seattle, MÜLLER OPLADEN produces 3D profiling machines for round pipes, tanks, dished ends, box sections and steel beams as well as mechanized welding systems such as longitudinal and circumferential seam welding systems to meet the toughest demands of the metalworking industry.

From individual machines to automated production lines inclusive of handling, the company creates solutions that are efficient, reliable and durable. High-quality workmanship and our employees’ many years of experience – some of whom have been working for MÜLLER OPLADEN for 20 years or more – are our assurance of integrated solutions when it comes to complex cutting and welding tasks.

Our customers are to be found in the international oil & gas industry, tank and power plant construction, the shipbuilding industry, steel construction and plant engineering.
